I am also a fan of Spotify, but recently, I found an issue, my Spotify Stops Playing after one or two seconds, and I have to play the song again to listen.

On Windows

• Press Win+R to open the Run dialog box.
• Now, type %localappdata%\Spotify\Storage\ and press Enter.
• After that, press Ctrl+A and delete all the selected items. (Don’t delete the Storage Folder).

Check Your Internet Connection

If you’re encountering a stopping issue while listening to music online, check your internet.

Try reconnecting your device with your internet or rebooting your router and modem. Also, check the internet speed of your network.

If your internet is working fine and you’re still facing the issue, move on to the next step.

Try Downloading the Music

If your internet is working fine and you’re getting the required speed to use Spotify, try downloading the music.

Download some music and once the download completes, turn off your internet and play the downloaded songs/music and check if you’re still getting the issue or not.

Disable Data Saver

Enabling data saver sets your audio to low, and if the Data saver is turned on in your Spotify app, try to turn it off.

To Disable Saver

• Launch Spotify and tap on the Settings (gear icon).
• Now, go to Data Saver and disable it.

Enable Background Data

• Navigate to the Device Settings then, go to the Apps & Notifications.
• Now, tap on Apps, locate Spotify and tap on Mobile data and wi-fi.
• After that, go to Background Data and toggle it off and disable the background data.

Turn Off Low Power/Battery Saver Mode

There were some users reported that they stopped the Spotify from pausing issue after turning off the battery saver mode on their devices.

To turn off the Battery Saver Mode on your device;

On iOS

• Navigate to the Settings and go to the Battery.
• Now, go to Low power mode and turn it off.

On Windows

• Navigate to the Quick Settings, and there you’ll find the Battery Save mode.
• Click on it to turn off the battery saver.

On Mac

• Navigate to the System Preferences then, go to the Battery section.
• Now, uncheck the Low Power Mode.

On Android

• First of all, navigate to the device Settings > Apps & Notification or Apps.
• Locate Spotify in the list, clear the Storage, cache, and force stop the app.
• Now. go to the File Manager > Android > Data > com.Spotify.music > delete the folder.
• Uninstall Spotify.
• After that, restart your device, wait for a while, and open the Play Store.
• Then, search for Spotify and install it.
• Once Spotify is installed, enter your credentials and sign in to your account.
• Play a song and check.

On iOS

• Launch Spotify and tap on the Settings(gear icon).
• Locate Storage and Delete the cache.
• Now, take Exit from Spotify and move towards the iOS Settings.
• Go to Storage and find Spotify in the list.
• Tap on Offload the app (Doing this will remove the app but keep its data). Tap on delete and confirm.
• After that, press and hold the Power button and restart your device.
• Wait for a while and open the App Store.
• Search for Spotify and install it.
• After installing, enter your credentials to sign in to your account.
• Play any song and check if this fixes the issue.

On Mac

• Quit Spotify (if open).
• Open Finder and click Go.
• Click on the Library from the drop-down menu (or press and hold the Alt key)
• After that, open caches and delete the com.Spotify.client and com.Spotify.client.helper folders.
• Click on the back arrow button and open the Application Support.
• Now, delete the Spotify folder.
• Press Command+Shift+G. This will open the Go to Folder window.
• Enter ~/Library/ to open the Library folder.
• Type “Spotify” in the search bar, then hit the “Search: Library” and delete all files that appear.
• Now, shut down your Mac and wait for a while.
• Turn on your Mac and reinstall Spotify.
• Enter the credentials to log into your Spotify account.

On Windows

• Exit from Spotify and navigate to the Settings.
• Now, go to the Apps and click on Apps & Features.
• Now, locate Spotify in the list and click on the three dots.
• Select Uninstall. Click on Uninstall again to confirm.
• After that, click on the Search button, type %AppData%, and press Enter. Locate and delete if there’s any Spotify folder. Also, search Spotify in the search bar to ensure no Spotify folder is left.
• Now, shutdown your Device, wait for at least 5 minutes and turn it on again.
• Lastly, please navigate to the Microsoft Store, search for Spotify and download it.
• Once the download is complete, enter your credentials and log in to your account.

Keep Your Device Up-to-Date

If still, the issue is here, check for the latest available updates for your device. Sometimes your device encounters a bug that’s creating the problem and stops Spotify from playing.
