Wherefore Did the Spiritstone Descend? is a Chasm Quest unlocked in the Underground Mines, as part of The Chasm Delvers questline of Genshin Impact. Here's the guide on how to unlock the quest, walkthrough, and list of rewards.

The Wherefore Did the Spiritstone Descend Quest is unlocked after completing the Perils in the Dark world quest and talking to Zhiqiong. It will start in the Nameless Ruins location.

This quest is the final World Quest under The Chasm Delvers quest chain.

The Wherefore Did the Spiritstone Descend? Quest starts in the Nameless Ruins area in the Underground Mines of The Chasm after completing the previous quest.

How to Enter The Chasm Underground Mines

Having taken out the Abyss Lector lurking here, you discover that Zhiqiong has seen the symbols on the key-like object the Lector left behind somewhere else...

Quest Objectives

• Talk to the Zhiqiong up ahead
• Go to the camp with Zhiqiong
• Talk to Zhiqiong
• Go to the gate that Zhiqioing mentioned
• Open Gate
• Go within the gate to investigate
• Purify the large crystal (0/5)
• Strike the large purified crystal
• Defeat the monster lurking in The Chasm's depths
• Return to camp and talk to Zhiqiong
• Talk to Muning

To complete this section of the quest, you'll need to use the Lumenstone Adjuvant gadget to recharge all five braziers to 100%, while defending it against enemies.
