Alpha Phi Omega is an organization that has come to be respected on any college campus lucky enough to have one. APO is mostly known for their service, however they are also known for their general kindness towards others. Alpha Phi Omega is full of wonderful people who want nothing more than to make the world a better place. There are 11 regions and 102 sections within Alpha Phi Omega. It was founded at Lafayette College by Frank Reed Horton in 1925 to create a new "standard of manhood." Horton took the scout oath and the scout law from the Boy Scouts of America. Originally, women were not allowed to be involved in APO, however, in 1976, women were inducted into it and Alpha Phi Omega became co-ed.
