Grammy Awards dikenal sebagai salah satu ajang penghargaan musik paling bergengsi, baik di Amerika Serikat maupun di dunia secara keseluruhan. Sejak pertama diselenggarakan pada tahun 1959, terdapat banyak kategori yang diadakan untuk memberi apresiasi pada musisi dan karya di bidang musik secara global. Terdapat banyak kategori dari berbagai genre, salah satunya dari genre musik country. Musik country memang cukup populer di Amerika Serikat dan mulai berkembang sejak era 40an dan 50an. Di Grammy Awards, terdapat beberapa kategori yang berkaitan dengan musik country, mulai dari Best Country Solo Performance (performa penyanyi solo country terbaik), Best Country Duo/Group Performance (performa duo/grup country terbaik), Best Country Album (album country terbaik) dan Best Country Song (lagu country terbaik). Kali ini akan dibahas mengenai kategori penghargaan lagu country terbaik di Grammy Awards. Kategori ini mengalami beberapa kali pergantian nama. Di awal kemunculan kategori ini di tahun 1965 diberi nama Best Country & Western Song. Kemudian mulai tahun 1969 berganti nama menjadi Best Country Song atau lagu country terbaik. RockIt’s kind of hard to believe, but rock was nearly two decades old by the time the 70s rolled around, which meant that things had come a long way from “Rocket 88.” The elements that made it great, however, remained much the same: Electric guitars and a love of the blues underpinned so much of what Eric Clapton, Janis Joplin, The Rolling Stones, and many others had to say. As the decade progressed, however, rock ‘n’ roll began to see more and more influences seep in.
