I get the feeling people are gonna fork the 2.0 version and make a new utility. Nothing against this version as it does exactly what it set out to do, but a lot of people used it as a dock replacement rather than a recording vector.

This tool will enable a "better than nothing" method of "docking" a Switch Lite once the newer chipset hack is released. Very cool

This is cool. Any possibility of being able to do this via docked mode?

First, I recommend using OBS over Streamlabs. Despite that whole Streamlabs controversy having blown over, I just really like OBS's power user settings to give more control.

But more than that, the second reason I'd use OBS over Streamlabs is the fact that I use my OBS to play MY Nintendo Switch too. And I use it BECAUSE of the fantastic low latency.

Just project your preview window and you'll have a nice playing experience that you can even Alt-Tab and it won't interrupt the full-screen projection.

Thing is my PC is a laptop, and it sucks. Xbox has a way to stream right on the console, but this would have to run through my PC, which I was trying to avoid. But if the Switch is running the game, all my laptop would have to do is have Streamlabs or whatever it's call open right? Maybe would be less of a load then running a game and streaming from the same computer. Thoughts on this? Or should I wait a bit until I upgrade my PC?

YES YOU CAN ACTUALLY

If you have an original Xbox One, hook the HDMI into the the HDMI In. (The Switch needs to be docked.) The original Xbox One had made it to where you could watch TV and control with from the Xbox with the Kinect. Even though nobody uses it anymore, it is still supported, and you can use it to capture literally anything with HDMI output. After this you need a Windows 10 PC, and you need to download the Xbox Companion App. After this you can connect your Xbox to the app, stream your Xbox screen, and then record with OBS.

Keep in mind that this works with literally anything as long as you have a HDMI out.

hi is there any method to Stream The Switches screen to obs without a capture card. For a while i used my xbox and oneguide app to stream it to pc but now microsoft patched. Please if you find a method write it in this thread. Thanks for the help !!!

Simple answer: no. The switch doesn’t have the capability for it. Probably going to have to opt for an el gato or setup a really good tri-pod to TV setup some how.

If you're looking for a cheap way to capture your Switch, I recommend this 30 dollar device. It's USB2.0 so it is limited to 720p@60fps or 1080p@30fps, but it works just as intended for my personal streaming/recording needs. I bought it on a whim and it turned out surprisingly solid.
