You feel an even greater sense of achievement when you eventually get to make your first sale.

If you've already experienced your first eBook sale, then you know the feeling I'm talking about, right?

It's just amazing, and it makes you want to get out there and create a few more great eBooks to sell online!

Why sell your eBooks?

eBooks sell well, and people love to read them. In fact, this online source estimated global ebook sales to be 19% of total book sales by revenue

If you've just finished writing your first eBook, huge congratulations to you, really, I applaud you.

I know how much time and effort goes into creating an eBook, especially if you've done it completely by yourself, so add an extra pat on the back from me.

Currently, I only have one eBook available for sale here on my blog. Well, it's actually more of a PDF blogging productivity workbook. But it's in a digital form of an eBook.

Over the years, I think I must have started to write around a dozen or so eBooks. However, most of them have just ended up sitting on my hard drive waiting to be completed, or waiting to be sent to the trash folder!

Are you ready to sell your eBook online?

When it comes to promoting and selling eBooks online, we've never had it so good.

I guess that's why so many bloggers and entrepreneurs are doing great with their eBooks right now.

According to The Guardian, the pandemic is driving eBook and audiobook sales all the way up!

eBook selling platforms everywhere!

When it comes to online platforms, just cast your mind back to 7 or 10 years ago. There weren't really many great places to sell your eBooks on the web, even though eBooks were just starting to get popular.

Giving away your eBook on your blog or website as an incentive was just about the simplest thing you could do.

However, we don't always want to give it away for free. You want to sell your eBook, right? You want to make some money from your eBook sales! Of course, you do. You spent weeks, maybe even months writing and editing it.

Thankfully, today there are dozens of great platforms on the internet where you can sell your digital books and make serious money. And more of these marketplaces are cropping up each year!

So, without further ado, here are ten beautiful platforms you can use to host and sell your eBooks online in 2022 and beyond.

Check out the video below too. (The video is a few years old now, but this post has recently been updated)

10 amazing websites to sell your eBook on in 2022

Let's do this!

Payhip is my top recommended site for selling eBooks and more. Payhip is what I mainly use myself.

The platform comes with a host of eBook marketing features including, analytics, marketing, discount codes, and customer management.

You can also create affiliates and encourage other bloggers and marketers to promote and sell your eBooks for you whilst earning a nice commission for themselves.

Payment is conveniently handled through PayPal or Stripe, so be aware even though there is a small charge fee, there are also the PayPal or Stripe transaction fees when selling.

So what can you sell with Payhip?

You can sell...

  2. Digital art
  3. Music
  4. Physical products (Art, merchandise, t-shirts, mugs)

  6. Coaching (New)
  7. Online courses (New fo 2022)

As you can see, you are able to sell more than just your eBooks! Payhip's latest features let you sell coaching and online courses, which we think is going to be a game-changer.

How much does Payhip cost?

Pricing wise, there are three plans to choose from if you decide to use Payhip:

Another big plus point with Payhip is that they also report and pay EU VAT on your behalf. Payhip is very user-friendly, perhaps the site lacks a few advanced selling options, but it's a hassle-free platform if you're looking for something easy to use.

To date, Payhip has helped me to make over $1,800 from selling a single eBook publication!

Sellfy is my second choice platform to sell your eBooks. This is one of the most easy-to-use e-commerce solutions not just for eBook authors, but content creators looking to sell their awesome work too.

Now, I want to be totally transparent with you. I've only started using Sellfy myself a few months ago, and so far, I've been very impressed with the platform and what they have to offer.

Sellfy offers four plans.

A free plan that lets you host up to ten products, selling print-on-demand and physical products. You cannot sell digital downloads with the free plan.

The next plan is the Starter Plan, and with that, you get to host and sell unlimited products, digital products, subscription products, connect your own domain, and have up to 2,000 email credits. The Starter Plan would suit bloggers and entrepreneurs and will set you back either $22 per month ($264 billed annually) or $19 per month ($456 billed bi-yearly) or $29 per month (billed monthly).

The next plan is the Business Plan which offers everything in the Starter Plan, plus removal of Sellfy branding, store design migration, cart abandonment, product upselling, 10K email credits, and more... This plan will set you back $59 per month ($708 billed yearly) or $49 per month ($1176 bi-yearly) or $79 per month (billed monthly).

There is also a Premium Plan for larger businesses.

Magnet4Blogging readers special offer!

$19 per month is a great deal for a 2-year plan; however, the price get's better if you're a Magnet4Blogging reader! You can save an extra 10% off any plan above if you signup through this link. Or, use coupon code 'fabrizio' in the checkout!

What does this mean? It means that a $456 bi-yearly plan would cost you $410 after the discount. That's just $17 per month.

3. Selz.com

Important note: Selz is no longer taking on new signups since they have been acquired by Amazon.

I've never used Selz to sell ebooks; however, I have purchased many titles through the platform many times in the past.

How do I start selling ebooks?

A couple of friends in my blogging community do quite well with Selz too.

Selz is much more than just a place to host and sell your eBooks on. The site provides authors with a complete eCommerce solution, plus marketing tools and resources.

Not only can you sell digital products, but also physical products on Selz.

Price-wise, there are three plans to choose from: Basic, Standard, and Advanced.

Monthly fees start from just $26 per month for a Basic plan. Features and benefits include -

  1. Unlimited products
  2. 24/7 support
  3. Multiple sales channels including social media
  4. Customer analytics
  5. Discount codes
  6. Apps and intergrations
  7. Custom domain
  8. PayPal payment processing, and more.

The company also takes 0% transaction fees; however, there are 2.9% + 30 cents for card transactions and 2% fees for using payment providers other than Selz Pay.

Fiverr is probably one of the most popular places on the web to sell eBooks as well as any digital product or service.

The site is a great platform to launch your ebook; in fact, I've had some good sales with selling my eBooks on Fiverr in the past. Here's an old screenshot I've managed to pull out of the old archives.

How do I start selling ebooks?

The tools and features in Fiverr are plentiful and useful too, and the company is always adding new features, which is exciting. You get a complete dashboard for managing your customer communication, orders, and sales.

The only irritating problem I found with Fiverr is that you have to manually email deliver the eBooks yourself each time you make a sale, which sounds absurd, I know. (That might have changed now, though I don't think so.)

You also have to maintain your profile so that your gigs (listings) don't become deactivated after some time, which means logging in every few weeks or so.

The fact that digital products aren't delivered automatically when someone makes a purchase can be a huge pain as an eBook seller. You have to make sure you're able to log in at all times to deliver digital products timely.

Price-wise, there are zero fees to actually list your products or services on Fiverr: However, there is a 20% transaction fee; you get to keep the other 80%.

If you don't think that's too bad, if you are selling a lot of eBooks, then you might want to compare Fiverr with Sellfy or Payhip.

There is one huge benefit of selling your eBooks on Fiverr. And that's down to the fact that Fiverr has a HUGE and trusted marketplace. You're leveraging the popularity of the website to promote and sell your eBooks, so you have all the chance of success.

Keep in mind, though you will be competing with a lot of other authors and publishers on the same topic, however, the site gets a ton of traffic, and you have every opportunity to make a sale of your eBook.

Amazon is probably the most popular and largest place on the web for selling eBooks right now. In fact, Amazon's share of the eBook market is a whopping 68%.

How do I start selling ebooks?

Now, I have never used the Amazon Marketplace to sell anything myself. I have purchased a lot of eBooks and books from Amazon in my time.

As an author, you can earn between 35% and 70% royalty for your eBooks sold on the Amazon platform, depending on your location and pricing structure, I believe.

Because Amazon is such a monumental and extremely authoritative platform, it's probably the most likely place for blog writers, authors, and entrepreneurs to want to sell their eBooks.

The site is also a great place to get real, verified sales feedback for your eBooks too. Of course, Amazon should NOT be the only place you should consider to promote and sell your eBooks.

Now again, I have had no previous experience with selling my eBooks on Feiyr.com. I'm adding the platform to this list as another option for you to explore.

On their website, the company states that they've been around since 2006, and from what I've read through my own research and on online forums, they're a great place to self-publish and distribute your eBooks on.

How do I start selling ebooks?

Registration is free, however, there is a small account activation fee, around €9.90 which hasn't changed in a few years.

There is no monthly or yearly cost with Feiyr.com and you earn 80% commission on sales of your eBooks, which probably means 20% goes to the site.

Blurb is another great site where you can not only sell and distribute your eBooks but also actually create your eBooks to start with.

It's a complete eBook creation, promotion, and selling platform.

Your options are that you can sell on their own platform, the Amazon or Barnes & Noble platform, and the Apple iBooks Store.

The site has some really cool software features you can use to create and style your eBooks before promoting them and selling them to your target audience.

You can also create quality printed books and magazines using Blurb, should you wish to. So, if you already have an eBook and want to take it one step further, perhaps this service is for you.

You can learn more about the site here.

If you want to make your eBooks available on the Android platform, there's no better place to start than Google Play Books.

With over a billion users, you're bound to make a great impact with your eBook here.

Getting set up is pretty simple. You can signup here, upload your content, set your price, and begin promoting your eBook to the whole world.

Next, we get to good old E-Junkie. This is where it all began for me as an eBook author many years ago now.

I really should stop calling myself an eBook author with just one eBook.

E-Junkie is the place to sell all kinds of digital downloads.

How do I start selling ebooks?

The platform keeps things very simple. They don't charge you for sales of your PDF eBooks, you only need to pay a monthly fee for hosting your eBooks.

Fees depend on how many eBooks you want to host with E-Junkie. For $5 per month, you can host and sell up to 10 digital products.

The platform offers a host of marketing tools, options, and features, including PDF stamping of your eBooks, affiliate tools, sales reports, and more.

Last but not least, we get to Lulu. Lulu is one of the oldest platforms on the web for publishing your eBooks. Lulu isn't just a great place to sell your eBooks, but the site will help you format and convert your eBooks into ePub or PDF.

In addition to eBooks, you can also use the platform to create and self-publish all kinds of physical books.

How do I start selling ebooks?

Prices vary according to your customized needs. For physical books, after printing costs, you keep 80% of the revenue.

That's it!

So, that's it!

I do hope these 10 platforms will keep you busy for the time being.

It might be worth trying each one out to see which gives you the best ROI for your eBook sales.

If you're wondering if you can sell your eBooks on more than one platform, as far as I know, there's nothing to say that you can't. However, it might be worth double-checking some platform's terms and conditions pages to be 100% sure.

Don't forget that you can use these platforms, but you must also put some work into promoting your eBooks.

I will update this post in the future when I find more great sites to add to the list.

If you happen to know of a great platform that you think should be on the list above, please click here to get in touch with me and let me know about it.

Is selling ebooks online profitable?

Remember, though they may be a paid product, ebooks are rarely a huge earner, especially in the short run. Most ebook sellers price them low to get people into their marketing funnel and sell them pricier stuff — their consulting, premium courses, and the like.
