Hello, I currently have Windows 10 home installed on my computer that is activated.
I have bought a new product key for Windows 10 pro and have tried to activate, the key but it gives me an error saying it will not work.
I have also tried to activate from the command prompt, but it gives me the error:
Windows Script Host
"Error: 0xC004F069 On a computer running Microsoft Windows non-core edition, run slui.exe 0x2a 0xC004F069 to display the error text."
I tried running the code in command prompt and gives the message "The Software Licensing Service reported that the product SKU is not found"
Not sure how to fix this. Does anyone know? Thank you

I think that is if I have a server edition of Windows. So I do not have either Windows Server Standard and Evaluation editions.
Do I need to purchase Windows Server and then do the upgrade?

In addition to what FreeBooter posted:
Did you attempt to upgrade in Windows 10?

Hi
upgrading from a standard home edition to a server version is not normal
They are 2 different animals....Iso's are way different
Did you phone your local MS centre they might give you the a reason why its failed also ask what OS it relates to if its valid
If i was you
Google the product key... DO NOT POST IT
if you hit multiple entries its liable to be non genuine, but it will tell you which year is the Base
if no hits its likely genuine
Either way i would send it back and ask for a refund, even if appears genuine then you will need to Clean install a Server version OS.... hope your rich thier not cheap

@Torchwood, I don't believe the OP wants to update to Server, only from Home to Pro.

Yes I have the Windows 10 Home edition activated with a license key currently. And I tried to install the new Windows 10 pro product key that I purchased directly from microsoft.
And I have tried to uninstall the product key with the command "slmgr.vbs /upk" successfully, and then cleared the key from registry with command "slmgr.vbs /cpky"
Then I tried to install the new product key with the command "slmgr.vbs /ipk #####-#####-#####-#####-#####" (with ###... filled with my new Windows 10 product key)
But it gives me the same error
Windows Script Host
"Error: 0xC004F069 On a computer running Microsoft Windows non-core edition, run slui.exe 0x2a 0xC004F069 to display the error text."
Not sure what to do.

Yes I did try to upgrade from Windows 10 Home to Pro, as I am currently using windows 10 Home.
The only other thing is to try to contact support by phone as they do not have support by chat. So I will have to make time for that.
Not sure if it can be done or I might need to purchase a new computer with Windows 10 Pro already installed

Don't purchase a new computer. The live agent will help you upgrade and activate Windows 10 Pro.

You can't activate with a Pro license key until Pro is installed. It's not an "unlock hidden features" but a different install. Upgrade to Pro using the MCT image you downloaded, then re-activate.

Oh so you are saying that I cannot upgrade from Windows 10 home to pro directly. I would have to download the windows 10 pro ISO file, then install, and then activate with my pro key?

It's not an "unlock hidden features" but a different install.
I believe it is an unlock feature.
If you have a Windows 10 Pro product key
Select Start > Settings > Update & Security > Activation.
Under Upgrade your edition of Windows, select Change product key.
Enter the 25-character Windows 10 Pro product key.
Select Next to start the upgrade to Windows 10 Pro.

That is the exact thing I tried to do.
I can uninstall my windows 10 home key and reinstall the windows 10 home key successfully. But when I try to change the key to windows 10 pro or uninstall the windows 10 home key and install the windows 10 pro key it does not work.
