1. Send Video as a File

WhatsApp allows you to send files as a document/file. So instead of sending your video as a video file, you can share it as a regular file.

Users can easily select video as a file and send up to 100MB of uncompressed video files. Follow the steps below.

On iPhone, you need to save the video from the Photos app to the Files app. Only after that, you will be able to browse and send the video on WhatsApp.

Don’t worry though. It’s much simpler than it sounds. Follow the steps below.

Step 1: Open the Photos app on the iPhone.

Step 2: Open the video that you want to send on WhatsApp.

Step 3: Select the Share button at the bottom.

Step 4: Tap on Save to Files option and select the location where you want to save the video.

Step 5: Open WhatsApp and move to the conversation.

Step 6: Tap on the + icon and select Document.

Step 7: Browse the Files app and select the saved video that you want to send.

Step 3: Tap on Browse other documents. You can use the Videos filter at the top to quickly see all the videos saved on the device.

The trick above is limited to sending files up to 100MB in size. There is no way to bypass that limitation.

If you want to send a video file more than 100MB in size, you need to take a helping hand from cloud storage services such as Google Drive or OneDrive.

Simply upload the video to these platforms and generate a sharable link. Here’s how to do it.

Step 1: Open the Photos and browse the video that you want to send.

Step 2: Tap on the Share button and upload it to Google Drive.

Step 3: Open the Google Drive app and locate the video.

Step 4: Locate the three-dot menu beside the video.

Step 5: Tap the Copy link option from the bottom menu.

Step 6: Open the WhatsApp app and move to the conversation.

Step 7: Paste the Google Drive link and you are all set to go.

The receiving person can simply open the Google Drive link and download or watch the video.
