Facebook event showing wrong time zone

I'm pretty sure the answer to this is going to be "Ask Facebook," but since there are no date/time settings in Facebook, I'm asking in both places. When I create Facebook events using a Windows PC/Firefox/Facebook, the event times are off by one hour on certain iPhones. I know it is happening with iPhone SE running iOS 15.1 and also with others. This has happened since the time change to Eastern Standard time here on the east coast of the US. The events are still showing in Daylight Savings time.

The user went into Settings --> General --> Date & Time. The time zone was set to New York, which is correct, and Update Automatically was on. She logged out of Facebook and logged back in, restarted the iPhone and the same problem shows up. She deleted the Facebook app and re-installed it, and the same problem. Since Facebook has no date/time settings, clearly something isn't syncing up correctly with the iPhone settings. Any ideas as to what to try next?

If your Facebook posts seem to be traveling through time, there may be something wrong with your computer's time settings. Facebook bases your time stamps off your computer's clock, rather than an internal time keeping system. By resetting the time on your computer, you should be able to get your time stamps back to normal. Though this method will help you to get your posts back on schedule, Facebook does not allow you to change the time zone of an account after its initial creation.

Windows

Step 1

Log out of Facebook, and close your Internet browser.

Step 2

Click the digital clock in the lower right corner of your screen. Click the blue "Change Date and Time Settings" in the bottom of the drop-down menu.

Step 3

Click "Change Time Zone." This opens the "Time Zone Settings" window. Select the correct time zone from the drop-down menu. Check the "Automatically Adjust Clock for Daylight Savings Time" box. Click "OK." The pop-up window will close. Click "OK" on the main Date and Time window.

Step 4

Launch your Internet browser. Sign back into Facebook. Write a test post to check that the time stamps are now working correctly.

Mac

Step 1

Log out of Facebook and close your Internet browser.

Step 2

Open the Apple menu. Select "System Preferences." Click "Date & Time."

Step 3

Uncheck the "Set Date & Time Automatically" box. Click and drag the hands on the clock to change the time. Click "Time Zone." Select your correct time zone from the menu provided. Click "Apply."

Step 4

Launch your Internet browser. Sign back into Facebook. Write a test post to check that the time stamps are now working correctly.

There are a few reasons why your FB events might be showing the wrong time:

1) Time zone settings: FB defaults to Pacific Timezone for events. To change your timezone setting, go to your account settings (click the down arrow in the top right corner of FB, then select “Settings”).

On the left hand side of the screen, click “General,” then scroll down to the “Time Zone” section and select your correct time zone from the drop down menu.

2) Incorrect clock on your computer: If your computer’s clock is set to the wrong time, this can also cause FB events to display the incorrect time. To fix this, open the “Date & Time” settings on your computer and make sure the time and time zone are set correctly.

3) Time zone changes: FB will sometimes adjust the timezone for events based on the location of the event. For example, if an event is happening in New York, FB will automatically adjust the time to show Eastern Time.

However, if the event location is unclear or FB can’t determine the location, the event will show up as Pacific Time.

How do you change the event time on a Facebook event?

To change the event time on a Facebook event, first go to the event page. On the right hand side of the page, click the “Edit Event” button. On the next page, you should see the current event time. To change it, click the “Edit” link next to the start and end times.

You can then choose a new starting and ending time from the calendar or you can type in a specific time. When you’re finished, click “Save Changes”. You should now be able to see the updated event time on the event page.

What time is it in PST USA right now?

It is 11:05 AM PST in the United States on Thursday, May 14th, 2020. Pacific Standard Time (PST) is 8 hours behind UTC (Coordinated Universal Time). PST is the standard time zone of the western United States, which includes California, Oregon, Washington, Nevada, and parts of Idaho.

Who is on GMT?

Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) is the mean solar time at the Royal Observatory in Greenwich, London. It is used as the basis for Coordinated Universal Time (UTC), used in many countries around the world as their basic time standard.

It is also known as ‘UTC+0’, or ‘Universal Time’. The United Kingdom, Iceland and Portugal are among the countries that use GMT as a standard, but other countries may also observe it in some capacity, as it is an important reference point for many time zones.

GMT is also referred to as ‘world time’ because it is the same across all of the world’s countries.

Why is my Facebook in the wrong time zone?

It is likely that your Facebook account is in the wrong time zone because the time zone settings have not been updated. This can happen if you have recently moved to a new location, or if you have changed your computer’s settings.

To fix this, you must go to your Facebook account settings and manually update your time zone. You can find this setting under the General Account settings section. Please also make sure that the time settings on your computer are correct as well, as this will also affect the time settings on your Facebook account.

Once you have updated the settings, you should see the correct time appear on your Facebook page.

Is the UK on GMT now?

Yes, the United Kingdom is currently on Greenwich Mean Time (GMT). GMT is the mean solar time at the Royal Observatory in Greenwich, London, and represents the time of the region. It is used as the international standard for legal, civil, and certain scientific purposes.

While traditionally associated with the United Kingdom, the concept of GMT was originally developed to make the calculation of the time difference between different regions easier. The United Kingdom is currently in the UTC+0 time zone, which is the same as GMT.

This means that the United Kingdom does not observe Daylight Saving Time (DST).

How do you post in different time zones?

Posting in different time zones can be a challenge when managing social media accounts that span multiple countries. The best way to approach this problem is to use a tool that specializes in scheduling posts across time zones.

The tool should allow you to set the post time according to the time zone of the account you are posting from. It should also allow you to customize the content of the post for each account in the differing time zones.

This will ensure that the content reaches the intended audience.

Once you have the tool in place, it is important to build a consistent posting plan. This can be done by preparing content ahead of time and scheduling the posts according to the designated time zones.

It is also helpful to test out your campaigns in advance to make sure they are working as intended.

Finally, it is important to keep track of changes when it comes to daylight savings time, as this can affect the timing of your scheduled posts. It is also helpful to look at the content of your post and consider whether it is appropriate for all time zones or if it may be more culturally relevant for one area over another.

With the right tools, a bit of planning, and careful attention to detail, it is possible to successfully post in multiple time zones.

What is the Pacific time for Eastern?

The Pacific time for Eastern is 3 hours behind. For example if it’s 12pm Eastern time, then it would be 9am Pacific time. It works the same way if you’re looking for a time specific time conversion. For example, if it’s 9:30am Eastern time, then it would be 6:30am Pacific time.

Time in the Pacific time zone is based on the mean solar time of 120th meridian west of the Greenwich Observatory, so you should take that into account when looking for exact time conversions.

Why are my business hours not showing on Facebook?

The most likely reason why your business hours are not appearing on your Facebook business page is because you have not entered them in the correct format. Business hours must be entered in the following format in order to be displayed correctly:

For example, if your business is open from 9:00am to 5:00pm Monday-Friday, you would enter the following:

Monday: 9:00am-5:00pm

Tuesday: 9:00am-5:00pm

Wednesday: 9:00am-5:00pm

Thursday: 9:00am-5:00pm

Friday: 9:00am-5:00pm

Saturday:

Sunday:

If your business has different hours on different days of the week, you will need to enter each day’s hours separately. For example, if your business is open from 9:00am to 5:00pm Monday-Friday and 10:00am to 4:00pm on Saturdays, you would enter the following:

Monday: 9:00am-5:00pm

Tuesday: 9:00am-5:00pm

Wednesday: 9:00am-5:00pm

Thursday: 9:00am-5:00pm

Friday: 9:00am-5:00pm

Saturday: 10:00am-4:00pm
